Hey Hey Hey! Jellystone Park Daddy Joe’s - Tabor City, NC - Memorial Day 2025
Jellystone Park, Daddy Joe’s - Kaety’s 15th Birthday Trip!
May 23 - 26 2025
We drove up to Tabor City, about 2.5 hours from our house, just north of Myrtle Beach and across the state line. We have been to Jellystone Golden Valley, but not this Jellystone. The staff were really nice upon checking in, and we were able to rent a golf cart to get around - we definitely didn’t need it as much as we needed it at the other Jellystone!
We made our reservations a little late, and ended up in the middle of basically RV row central. It was fine, just not what we are used to and a little too over-people-y for us. Across from us, two families were camping together and they had 5 kids between them, 8 dogs, and at least 6 adults - it was definitely a bit much. We were grateful we were able to leave the pups at home with Kelly J because it would have been even more boisterous, since those were YAPPY dogs and not very well behaved!
Unlike Golden Valley, this Jellystone did not have a lake swimming area (also this one is in gator country, so no thank you!), but it did have lots of fishing ponds, a big activity area with slides and water park as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool.
With our golf cart, we were able to participate in the Memorial Day parade one night, which was neat. We also were able to go over and play mini golf on two different days and partake of their homemade ice cream at the Creamery - it was REALLY good ice cream!
Kaety golfing - she LOVES mini golf!
The Family Who Golfs Together…
There was, of course, the requisite gem mining and the girls found lots of treasures and we took some silly pictures… (plus we went into the store and the man behind the counter told us his grandmother’s name was Ruth Spivey too cool!)
And Kaety found herself an “exercise” park to play on :)
Steve and I took a walk *by ourselves!* while the girls went to the pool and later, he even played some games with me!!
Kaety’s birthday was the day after we got back, so we saved the presents and celebration of the actual day at home, but it was a fun trip nonetheless.
